Each year, Ircam oraginzes the Manifeste festival, a mix of concerts and academies of highest quality.
This year, 2016, I was very proud to be selected for the In Vivo Electro academy as a composer (along with Stanislav Makovsky and Luca Scapellato).
During two weeks I worked on a composition for juggler/choregrapher Jérôme Thomas and his brillant quartet (Audrey Decaillon, Viola Ferraris, Florence Huet and Ria Rehfuss).
It was a very exciting time to dig Ircam technologies with computer music producer/designer Augustin Muller and to eventually compose a 20+ minute live piece under the supervision Mauro Lanza. I also took this opportunity to write and record my first cello score, interpreted by Deborah Walker.
I performed the resulting piece, untitled Fragments (part i Nemesis / part ii Mimesis), on the 2nd of July at Centquatre as a accompaniment to Jérôme Thomas' visual/choreographic creation. Listen to a recording of Fragments, as performed!
